Topic:  Arizona Cooperative Extension Legal Disclaimer (also referred to as "Affirmative Action Statement" and/or "Indicia")

Issued in furtherance of Cooperative Extension work, acts of May 8 and June 30, 1914, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Dr. Edward C. Martin, Associate Dean & Director, Extension & Economic Development, Division of Agriculture, Life and Veterinary Sciences, and Cooperative Extension, The University of Arizona.

Arizona Cooperative Extension is committed to being an inclusive organization and our programs, services and other offerings are available to anyone wishing to take part.  Our legal disclaimer (above) reinforces this commitment and shall be posted and included on all materials produced by Arizona Cooperative Extension and its partners for public information, public education, or public distribution.  It shall be made available in English, and in other languages appropriate to the local population served or directly affected by any Extension program or activity.    


Exceptions

Exceptions (effective February 14, 2019) to including the full Legal Disclaimer statement above (as well as any other languages):

  1. If the size of the material is too small to include the full statement, the material will at a minimum, include the following condensed statement:
    1. "The University of Arizona is an equal opportunity provider.  Learn more at extension.arizona.edu/legal-disclaimer"
  2. When audio or video presentation does not reasonably lend itself to including the full statement, the presentation will, at a minimum, include the condensed statement (in 1.a. above) presented in a conspicuous and meaningful manner
