How can I locate a person with a specific expertise?
At times, we are asked to refer people who have a specific specialty or resource who can answer questions based on that topic. There are several ways to find this information, but the two highlighted below are commonly used:
UA Profiles -Â https://profiles.arizona.edu/
- This system is fed from UA Vitae and is specific to faculty. But you can search using keywords when looking for a particular specialty.
- Example:Â poulty, cotton, water, 4-H, nutrition, soil, weeds, etc.
- This system provides a biography, interests, courses, and scholarly contributions created by the faculty member provided they enter them in their Vitae
- This system does not have filtering functionality
Extension Directory -Â https://extension.arizona.edu/directoryÂ
- This system functions similarly to the one above, but is more specific to Arizona Cooperative Extension
- It includes ALL Extension personnel, from all across the state (anyone with an Extension appointment)
- It's not fed from a specific system but is a self-serve tool
- You can update your profile at any time by logging into the system
- Search results are based on what's included in your own profile
- You can filter by Location or by Unit
