Common publication image attribution

Hosted by University of Georgia with multiple different databases depending on category. Usage permissions state that images included in the Bugwood Image Database System (Bugwood Images) are available under a Creative Commons license. Individual photographers retain all rights to the photos they have contributed.

Websites

For educational purposes, any Web site can link directly to a photo file (or its descriptive page) on the UC IPM Web site to display photographs and associated text. This is the preferred method for displaying UC IPM Web site photos. Please notify us if you link to us.

Educational institutions and governmental agencies

Linking directly to the photo page on the UC IPM Web site is the preferred method for displaying these photos. However, up to 20 images may be copied to an educational institution's or governmental agency's Web site for display as long as the following conditions are met:

  • Copyright statement cannot be removed from original UC IPM photo.

  • Credit must be given on or adjacent to the photo: "Used with permission from University of California Statewide IPM Program, J. K. Clark, photographer" (or other photographer, as appropriate).

  • The UC Statewide IPM Program should be notified of this use. Contact UC IPM.

  • A link to the UC IPM Web site (http://www.ipm.ucanr.edu) for more information should be included within the educational institution's or governmental agency's Web site.

  • If appropriate, the linking Web page should reference the UC IPM publication it appeared in, as well as ordering information.

  • The educational institution or governmental agency is responsible for copying the photo files from the UC IPM Web site.
